- Cavs-Magic (Game 4): Honestly, this series should be over if it weren't for Lebron's miracle shot. I have to give Stan Van Gundy some credit here. He has exposed the Cavs greatest weakness - that they have no big men that can score in the post. Big Z just shoots jumpers, Ben Wallace can't make a layup, and Varejao is still mainly an energy guy off the bench that can score sometimes but is more of a defender. None of these guys can really defend Dwight Howard. In overtime, Howard went into man-game mode and dominated Varejao with 3 straight dunks. Varejao would soon foul out and it was all over from there on out. So I think it might be time to put the "Dwight Howard is overrated" conversation away, because he is making anyone who said that look like a fool. Lebron obviously kept up his part of the bargain with a beastly 44/12/7 but it wasn't enough. These games have all been really close, but I dont see how the Cavs win this series. The Magic bench has outplayed the Cavs bench. You can officially put Cleveland fans on freakout-about-losing-Lebron suicide watch.
- Lakers - Nuggets: So all of a sudden the Nuggets look like one of the best teams in the league. They are scary. They fit the "peaking at the right time" cliche to a tee. Denver has consistently elevated their game ever since the Billups trade. They are physical, have a lot of depth, and have great team play. I love their bench. J.R. Smith, Birdman, and Linas Kleiza are perfect change of pace guys. Is this the year where Carmelo elevates his game to the likes of D-Wade and Lebron? Everyone has been waiting and he looks like hes on the brink. I would by no means count out the Lakers in this series though. They are still a very dangerous team and could easily dominate this game tonight. This series is definitely going to go seven and its going to be amazing to watch.
- Draft Lottery - Clippers get #1 pick. Wow, this is huge for the Clips. I know it looks absolutely horrendous right now, but the Clippers' long term situation isn't too bad. They are still 2 years away from getting some giant contracts off their books (Camby and Ricky Davis expire next year, Zach Randolph expires the year after. But I like what they have going with their young core. Eric Gordon, Al Thornton, and soon to be Blake Griffin is pretty sick. They really need to trade either Kaman, Baron Davis, or Randolph though. Everyone knows Randolph sucks, and Baron Davis just wants to be a producer or something. Its a travesty. If I were a Clippers fan, I would probably hope for another horrible next season and another high lottery pick.
